Preparation instrumental requirements
Patients candidates F.U.E. are initiated for the preparation of the donor. This is to shave the area where follicular units will be drawn up to achieve short hair from 1 to 1.5 mm. This area is infiltrated with local anesthetics in order to induce local analgesia subcutaneously.
For proper and efficient execution of the method is necessary to have a special binocular microscope with possibility of enlargement of the visual field from 6 to 10 times, so as to obtain optimum viewing. The use of specific punch from 0.6 to 1 mm in diameter, with manual or automatic, allows the extraction of follicular units.
As was previously mentioned, it is essential to establish the correct positioning of the punch when it penetrates the skin, so that it results in a certain angle of insertion between the instrument and the hair shaft. The importance of this phase is to limit or minimize the trans-dissection, which would compromise quality and vitality follicular unit.
